Feedback about Marathon Guru training and race day

Will's lesson and feedback:

Hi Lee,

It was great to meet you briefly at the Dublin expo, and I am delighted to be able to say I finished the Dublin marathon in 3 hours 27 mins and 44 seconds. It was always my aim to try to run a sub 3 hour 30 minute marathon and I am SO pleased that I finally managed to do so – it was one of the hardest things I have ever done but hard training and careful preparation was the key to success + as my wife (who competes in triathlons) says…”it all comes down to how badly you want it” and I think that is very true in the marathon event.

Anyway, I am extremely grateful for the guidance that you gave in the training programme and in the webinar in the week leading up to the race – it gave me great confidence to go out there on the race day thinking “I’ve made the sacrifices, I’ve done the training & now its time to deliver”. I will certainly use Marathon Guru again in the future – I am considering which marathon to do in 2013 (maybe Dublin again as its my home town race).  I would like to think that if I can follow a slightly more ambitious training plan with yourselves, I can hopefully shave several minutes off my current PB.

Best regards to you & Scott

Lee's Response:

Hi Will,

Mate, congratulations on a super effort. You should be really proud of yourself and I hope you are still basking in the glory of your performance. I hope the recovery since the race has gone well and we look forward to working with you for your next race and you certainly will run faster.
